You don't have to speak or understand French to love Béatrice Martin a.ka. Cœur de pirate. I don't speak the language and I'm one of her biggest fans. Yes, I am!
Her music is royalty and I would go as far as calling her the queen of French pop. Martin's sound is unique because it mingles modern popular music with rhythms of the past, creating nostalgic vibes that are amplified by the power of her voice. Martin's voice could be described as Adele mixed with Nancy Sinatra, with an added touch of Lady Gaga. It's simply fantastic!
I discovered Cœur de pirate by chance one day on YouTube and I'm so glad I did. The song I came upon was "Adieu" and I instantly became a fan. I bet you'll also become a fan after listening to the song and maybe even want to learn French. It comes with an amazing music video too!

Canada's New International Pop Icon
Drake and Justin Bieber may be Canada's top pop artists putting the country's name on the international scene, but Cœur de pirate will no doubt very soon steal the spotlight.
"Adieu" might be from 2011, but it certainly has a fresh and mesmerizing sound that still resonates in 2017. Heck, I'm still playing the song over and over again, and over again. It's that good!
Recently, Cœur de pirate released her new song, "Undone," an English track as captivating as "Adieu." The star is already famous in Canada but now it's time to for the world to discover Cœur de pirate!
Let me know what you think of "Adieu" and "Undone" in the comments below!
